The Truth About PETA

petaolivia.jpg You might’ve seen the ads with dismal dogs and celebrities declaring they won’t wear fur, but what do you really know about People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA)?

Here are a few examples of PETA’s hypocritical celebs: Pamela Anderson auctioned off her Dodge Viper to benefit PETA which had a “luxurious leather interior”. Just weeks after launching an anti-leather campaign for PETA, Jenna Jameson was filmed eating oysters, fishing, and wearing leather. http://petakillsanimals.com/article_detail.cfm?article=134

From the mouth of PETA’s president: “Even if animal research resulted in a cure for AIDS, we would be against it.” PETA constantly attacks foundations like the March of Dimes, the Pediatric AIDS Foundation, and the American Cancer Society, because they support animal-based research aimed to find cures. http://www.targetofopportunity.com/peta.htm

Bill Maher’s compassionate quote takes the cake: “To those people who say, `My father’s alive because of animal experimentation, ‘ I say `Yeah, well, good for you. This dog died so your father could live.’ Sorry, but I’m just not behind that kind of trade off.”  http://www.freewebs.com/animalrightsandyou/quotesfromarleaders.htm

PETA has given over $150,000 to activists like the Earth Liberation Front and the Animal Liberation Front. Since 1996 the two groups are responsible for causing more than $43 million in damages and ALF even boasted that the two groups committed “100 illegal direct actions” -blowing up SUVs, destroying the brakes on seafood delivery trucks and planting bombs in restaurants. http://www.care2.com/c2c/groups/disc.html?gpp=955&pst=176535

And my favorite: PETA’s 2010 “Animal Record” report filed with the Virginia Dept of Agriculture and Consumer Services, shows that PETA employees killed 94 percent of the dogs and cats in their care last year. Yep, that’s right, PETA kills puppies and kitties! http://www.petakillsanimals.com/

o1 Aoudad_1.jpgPETA hates hunters, but they kill without utilizing their animals; we hunters are  far more for the ethical treatment of animals than they’ll ever be. What are your thoughts on PETA?

One Response to The PETA Truth

First I would like to say I am an animal lover and believe in the PROPER protection of animals. I have pets of my own and have always done my best to help animals if I can.

I would like to thank the hunters out there who manage game and the properties they hunt, and thank you to those who help protect the world’s wildlife preserves as well!

PETA…where do I start! They not only kill animals they proclaim to protect, they also poison young naive children on the school grounds where our children are suppose to be able to go to get a fact-filled education that is unbiased. PETA approaches these young impressionable minds with their one-sided propaganda hell bent on poisoning them with literature of the blood, gore and torture of animals created by them to coerce our young impressionable children to standup for the PETA views they choke them with. The damage they cause in some cases in unmeasurable and irreversible. They do this because they know they can manipulate our young children. They don’t bring that information to educated adults who can form a legitimate opinion because the efforts would be a moot point.

Like other organizations that start out with good intentions, they grew and lost sight of what they are about and what they set out to do. The entire organization needs to be revamped…a complete over haul. PETA needs to wake up, side with the hunters and get on the right page, only then will they be able to truly help save the animals. Take the money they raise and instead of printing literature to give to children they should take that money and do something about the topics they show them.

As a parent that has lived through the damage and devastation PETA has caused my family, I can honestly say I would support them if they worked with hunter’s to make things better.

In no way shape or form should PETA be able to talk to a child without written consent from the child’s parents! Our high school’s should be protecting our children from this one-sided ignorant propaganda!!!

Huntingandfishingmaryland.com, thank you so much for bringing this topic to the public and I hope millions get a chance to read what is printed here.

People please DON’T support PETA…not because I say so, do your research! Ask your child if they have been approached.
