Maryland is quite an interesting state. It’s one of the smallest states in the country with some of the biggest resources.  In just a few hours you can leave the Appalachians Mountains and travel to the East coast to dip your toes in the Atlantic Ocean.  It’s like a little country of its own.  I guess that’s why so many people like to call Maryland home.  In the trek between rock and water one can experience a whole host of of fish and wildlife.  Maryland provides a hunting seasons for water fowl, turkey, quail, and pheasant just to name a few but the beautiful thing about this tiny little treasure it also offers an opportunity for big game such as Whitetail Deer and Black Bear.  Maryland also offers a chance at Exotic game ON PUBLIC LAND to boot!  Maryland is home to an exotic species of Elk we refer to as Sika Deer that were brought here many years ago from Asia.  The Sika Deer’s range is mainly located in two areas of Maryland which is the swamps of Dorchester County and on Assateague Island.  The wonderful thing about that is both areas offer very productive public hunting.  Dorchester County provides hunting through Black Water refuge and Assateague Island offers hunting as well.  These Little elk are a lot of fun to hunt and are super table fare, and I mean Super!  They have also slowly migrated to other counties such as Wicomico County where one of the largest known bodied Sikas has ever been taken in the state, and that was taken on our farm of all places.

fish14.jpeg100_1707.JPGMaryland also provides an excellent fishery.  We have been blessed with the Chesapeake Bay which has been brought back to life and again supplies us Marylanders with huge “Rock Fish”, Stripers if you will, and the Maryland Blue Crab.  Maryland also has bragging rights for the White Marlin where Ocean City makes claims to be the White Marlin Capital of the world.  There were boats setting release records in 2010 of over 50 billfish a day and we had our first Blue Grander (1000 pound plus) Blue Marlin this year (2010) during the world’s “Largest” fishing tournament, The White Marlin Open. 9trip.JPGshit.jpg
Maryland has so much to offer and we look forward to being your tour guide and  hopefully in the process you can join in and guide others while sharing your experiences.az1.JPG
