Way to go BGE!  Nice to see BGE put back into the community especially toward such a worthy cause…(Click on video to see what I’m talking about)

A lot of the information provided below comes from the CHESARDA website…See further by Clicking here
The Qualified Resources (volunteer groups) such as CHESARDA assist police when ever their services are needed for ground searches as well as water searches.  These volunteers hold down their own careers and in most case have to self fund their operations for the sole purpose of providing safety to the public!

Chesapeake Search Dogs is always in need of dedicated team members. The mission of sidebar-imgsearch and rescue is one of great importance. Lives count on the quality and dedication of the teams who search to save them. We are looking for quality people who will dedicate themselves to this mission. Joining our team with experience is great but it is not required. We welcome serious individuals who wish to participate and be a part of a growing and vibrant volunteer organization. We have positions available in the following areas:

    Dog Handlers

Our handlers train and handle their own dogs. The average handler spends 10-15 hours per week working with his/her dog. It takes approximately 1 year to train a dog to be proficient in searching for lost subjects. A SIGNIFICANT time commitment is required for handler and canine certification.

    Mission Support

Our mission support personnel provide support in searches in the areas of communications, navigation, or even running a search.

    Administrative

Behind-the-scenes support is necessary to ensure that we have the means and resources to conduct our searches. Help is needed in the areas of fundraising, record keeping, newsletter writing, and events.

    Veterinary Services

Veterinarians and Veterinary Technicians help us maintain the health and well being of our dogs. We ask much of our dogs and they need care.

Some other NON-GOVERNMENT SEARCH AND RESCUE ORGANIZATIONS are:

    Mid-Atlantic Dogs

    Delmarva Search and Rescue (ASRC)

    TROT SAR Mounted Team

    Mason-Dixon Rescue Dogs

    Susquehanna Search and Rescue

Search and Rescue Dogs of Maryland

    Calvert K-9 Search Team

    Bay Area Recovery Canines

    Potomac Valley Search and Rescue

    Mountain Area Rescue Group (ASRC)

    Shore K-9

East Coast K-9 Search and Rescue

Truly remarkable people and thank you all for your service.

Please if you are ever in a position to donate to the aforementioned organizations, don’t hesitate!
